Artist's Description
In a world where very few people "take time to smell the flowers" I wish to provide a means through "unaltered" images (each subject is shot with available light and no computer enhancement) to give people a chance to glimpse the wonders around them through each of these images. If my images cause one person to slow down, pause and be grateful for the awe and beauty of the nature around them, then my efforts will have been worth it.
About Brian Edward Harris
Thank you for visiting today! My Inspiration: The amazing detail in nature's creation. As I allow my eyes to study each subject, the variety of textures becomes very clear. It is these textures which challenge me as an artist. It could be the combination of intricate feathers with the contrast of the glass-like eye of an eagle, or the velvet-like petals contrasted with the spiny pistol of a flower. These textures are what give life and emotion to each of my pieces. There is amazing wisdom in the old saying, "Take time to smell the roses." Thanks for your kind words on my paintings, Brian. I wish I could have a strong art background as you do. You are a great pencil artist, but I see you also have a knack for photography! That is also a fun pastime for me. I am always taking photos to use as references for paintings. I am also now experimenting with works on canvas. Keep up your pursuit of artistic joy! Best regards, Karen Stark
