Description
Hairy Fig (Ficus hispida). These trees grow near the river where I live in Townsville. They're an understorey tree, meaning they only grow to about 10 metres in height and live underneath the rainforest canopy.
As with all Australian Figs, it has it's own special wasp that pollinates it. I'm not sure what eats the fruit, I've never seen them touched, so I'm wondering if what ever does it them no longer occurs here.
