As I stood here painting Aoki's Shaved Ice shop in Haleiwa I spotted this classic combi toodling down main street towards me. I dropped my brushes and grabbed the camera, snapping a quick pick just as it cruised past on the way to check out the surf. I'd only intended to paint the shop but this was even better! I finished the painting of the street then took it back home to add in the Combi van. Moment captured!
Returning home to New Zealand, I loved this little painting so much I decided to create a much larger studio piece from it, which you can also see here: https://www.nzpainter.com/workszoom/1797987
