Harold Alvin Levey (1889-1967), US chemical engineer. Levey obtained a masters degree in chemistry at the University of Illinois in 1916. From 1911, he had worked as a mechanical and electrical engineer, before becoming a chemical engineer at Mariner and Hoskins in Chicago. He founded the company American Products Manufacturing in 1919, and the same year founded Harold A. Levey Incorporated, a consulting engineering firm. He specialised in the production of plastic packaging and sheeting. His honours included the Honor Scroll Award from the American Institute of Chemists in 1956. He also established the Harold A. Levey Award at Tulane University.
