Glenn, rather than repeat your description verbatim, I'll simply say I agree with every word! It's one of the most appealing depictions of what childhood games are all about--that I've ever seen!

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thank you so much Joseph! This one came together because these little girls were just being themselves, not trying to act or pose. One of those 'happy accidents' that I was able to capture.

Wow! Absolutely amazing work! L/F/V

Nice work!

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thank you so much! I enjoyed your wonderful photography!

This is breathtaking. The most lifelike I've seen.

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thank you Sue! You have many wonderful works yourself!

Incredible!! You do wonderful work!! I have enjoyed looking at a few of your pieces!!

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thank you Shana! You have an ingenious imagination-keep up the great work!

I am not particularly drawn to realism over Impressionism but I am drawn to artwork with emotion and your work has that connection for me. This piece is light hearts and a joy to view!

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thanks James! To me art is like music. Without feeling and emotion it becomes robotic and lifeless. When I saw the two girls playing (and big sister was trying to pull a fast one on little sis!) I knew I had to paint this one. So glad you enjoyed it!

I have always admired artists who can achieve realism in their work, and you have become one of my new favorites. This one in particular is amazing.

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thanks Martha. The greatest thrill I get from my art is when another artist really appreciates the extra effort I try to put into my work. I hope you always enjoy my art and that I never disappoint you!

Beautiful work, love their body posture and the look in the one girl's eyes.

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thank you Joseph, I greatly appreciate your kind words. I was lucky to catch their natural expression when they thought I wasn't looking !

Thanks, and keep on rocking!!!

Awesome technique!

Glenn Beasley replied:

Thank you so much Patricio! I see you are also a musician. So am I. Guitarist for 35 years myself. Kindred spirits!

We are extremely pleased! The artwork was exactly what we were looking for and the towel quality is superior. Great birthday gift for my son who couldn’t have been more excited upon opening the gift! This is my second time purchasing from you and I will continue to do so, as well as spread the word. Keep up the great work!!

Pen Sherwood's Amitors artwork goes anywhere with Diana Kisselburg's words! Many years ago, my uncle Thomas (Tom) Phillip Hufford asked me to come up with a word the opposite of predator. Amitor is that word. Ami: Fr. friend, Amigo: Sp. friend, Amity: Eng. harmony, Ami: Formosa, Taiwan. Giraffe: non predatory animal unless young attacked. Butterflies: live, love, laugh, hope. Survive, thrive and inspire others. Pen Sherwood offered to do this Amtor artwork for free sharing the copyright with me for my Amitor concept. Amitor Tom would be so proud. Diana Hays Kisselburg

Artist's Description

Two young sisters playing hide and seek, the older girl is pulling a bit of a prank on younger sister by hiding behind the same tree she is using to count '8, 9, 10 ready or not!' This is oil on canvas that employs the use of impasto on the tree bark to bring the texture of old moss grown tree more to life. This image is all about the innocence and playfulness of two young girls growing up in the country with trees, fields and just nature itself as their playground. This piece won First Place in the Portrait/Figure division in the 2014 Arkansas League of Artists Spring Show

About Glenn Beasley

****Member of The International Guild of Realism*********Member of Oil Painters of America****Member of Arkansas League of Artists*** Member Portrait Society of America**** Like most I began drawing at an early age. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of time spent drawing people, places and things that interested a young boy. It was a great escape during times I was ill and confined to bed or the house as there was no internet and only 4 channels on tv to watch growing up in the '60s . There were no museums nearby, just a library and the only chance I had to see paintings were in books and the family bible which as I recall held magnificent works by Carl Heinrich Bloch. That stoked my interest in painting along with a coffee...
