Description
I had to climb over a few fences when visiting Fort Garland, Colorado earlier this year to get just the perfect angle on the photograph I used as inspiration for this painting. I was enamored of the intense shadows positioned against the dramatic mountain backdrop. I'm going to use this one for my Christmas cards this year.

Your painting's shadows are the crowing touch to a well crafted image. Voted for you!

What a beautiful painting, Anne! The soft light and shadows are such a good fit with this old church and capture perfectly a bit of history in Fort Garland..

Very inspirational image full of hope and spiritual optimism. Love the contrast of man-made to nature, both subjects sharing similar emotional content. Well done. l/f

I really appreciate your insights, Kirk. I didn't even think of the contrast you speak of myself, and love your take on it.
