Today January 12, 2010, marks exactly six years since a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. This happens at 4:53 pm. Haiti was plunged into chaos and cloud of dust. This catastrophe has left over 300,000 dead. thanks Otis for honoring Haiti!

Hi Otis, this is my second visit to your site today. Sometime ago you had mentioned "Frederick Douglass' lecture in 1893 on the subject of Haiti." Frederick Douglass was born a slave in Maryland. he was sent as an ambassador representing the United States in Haiti, 1889-1891. Frederick Douglas delivered his lecture on Haiti in America, at the Haitian Pavilion Dedication Ceremonies at the Chicago World Fair, on January 2, 1893. This document is available at:-------------------------------------------- It is a very good, informative historic read. I made copies and intend to examine it well. I thank you Otis for directing us to that noteworthy site. L/F

Beautiful sense of feeling in this. I love the affect of the black and white contrasted with the colors on the flag. Very important piece, moving and powerful. L/F

Earthquake, death, despair and sufferings. Bad memories. But it must never be forgetten. God bless Haiti people.

Today makes four years since the Earthquake in Haiti...Thank you Otis for honoring Haiti! Peace...

Wow,a very powerful piece of art you have created mr.. Otis.Thank you for sharing it,i value the idea behind it,the more people to help, the better .

Great piece, O!

Otis, your painting commemorating the seism that occured in Haiti three years ago, came to my mind, and I wanted to revisit it. When that sinister shaking resumed, on January 12, 2010, at exactly 4:53pm, lasting 35 seconds, 300,000 people lost their lives. Many are still not out of the disaster situation and are still living under tents and are anxiously looking for help. Again, thank you Otis, for honoring Haiti. Peace...V/f

truly powerful that is a story felt!
