Description
The Horsehead Nebula (also known as Barnard 33) is a dark nebula in the constellation Orion. The nebula is located just to the south of Alnitak, the easternmost star of Orion's Belt, and is part of the much larger Orion Molecular Cloud Complex.
The Horsehead Nebula is approximately 1500 light years from Earth. It is one of the most identifiable nebulae.
During October of 2018, I was given the opportunity to shoot and stack images of it.
After being done with editing, the stunning colors blew my mind. Being used of getting – at best – a faint hint of a Horsehead Nebula when shooting from Zurich, this image blows everything I have ever created out of the water.
