This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.
Artist's Description
One of the stories my dad used to tell about my early childhood: "We were walking up the main street of Saratoga (Wyoming) when Dawn -- about 4 or 5 -- practically bumped into the local sheriff. She looked up at his tall, commanding person with the handlebar mustache, badge, western duds and revolver, and she said, 'Howdy, Deppity!'" This sheriff's deputy was a true western character -- the type of guy who, while practicing his fast draw, shot himself in the foot. He married a lady from Florida and flew down there once. When he stepped off the plane at the Miami airport, people flocked to get his autograph, thinking he was a Hollywood western star. Unfortunately, his marriage didn't last -- his wife found it hard to adapt herself to conditions in Wyoming, especially since he insisted on keeping the bedroom windows open all night even in the winter. In later years he ran for mayor by hanging out at the post office, knowing that sooner or later everybody in town would show up ther...
About Dawn Senior-Trask
I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers. My artwork consists of all these things and more...

Absolutely delightful painting and story, Dawn! As for animals and husbands go, I am lucky too. Though my husband does not show his appreciation of animals, as obvious as I, do he silently spoils our cats, past and present, likes dogs but does not want one and thinks that anyone who rides a horse will eventually be injured. At (just turned) 19 when we got married, I was removed from my life as one of Daddy's "Cowboys". I guess I could say, that I am being protected - but I do miss my horses... He also appreciates all wild animals, as I do. He was an "Army Brat" and he is funny! (Good thing...) We have now been married almost 63 years. I love this painting, Dawn! V/F
