This is the reinforcing of an embankment in the port of Lyttelton, which partly collapsed in the Christchurch earthquakes. They are using the same equipment as used for blowing up rock faces to mend them.

I love working in New Zealand as there is always something new to excite me. I learned the hard way with film B/W, colour negatives and slides and now love the freedom that digital cameras can give you. As I am often several months behind when I start working on my pictures I am often surprised and excited at what I find. Each individual has to be adapted depending on the subject; sometimes they are nearly untouched and others have hours of creative changes to get them looking perfect.
