My brother was the astronaut who shot this photo on the STS 58 mission; since he was photographing on behalf of NASA, his name is not directly linked to the photo. He was passionate about mountains, to include climbing. He was featured in National Geographic, noting that their map of Everest allowed him to specifically identify that he had captured the view of K2. It is a nice piece of art in its own right, but the backstory is meaningful to our family and we are glad we could acquire this art. We have bought both an acrylic version and a metal version; both are great mediums for this specific photo.

"Imperial Decree à ta Gorge de la Bastia de la Guerra" is a bold, symbolist metal print artwork that visually echoes the lyrical resistance and cultural disillusionment expressed in the latest Cajun Dead et le Talkin’ Stick release. This hybrid of spoken word song and visual manifesto confronts the ongoing erasure of authentic Acadian identity under the weight of institutionalized heritage culture, colonial powers, and performative diversity optics.
