The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

I brightened up my palette to match the colours of autumn. This is the view looking southeastward across Jim Day Raids towards one of my favourite white pines. It was a classic autumn day. Old James Day who the rapids apparently were named after, would have enjoyed it. The scene probably looks the very same as it did in his day back in the early 1800's - two hundred years ago - my, how time flies.
A James Day and a Caleb Day were enumerated in the 1810 census of Rear of Leeds & Lansdowne but we do not know where they were located, or if that is the Jim Day that the rapids is named after. In many cases theses people on the census were squatters and tenants who lived on other people's property, so they never appear in the land records. As a result, a Jim Day may have lived that the rapids that bears his name, but there is no record which Jim Day it was or any other history.
