My husband was “born and raised” in Atlanta in 1932 and loves reminiscing about the good ole days. I had been looking for art centering on Atlanta in the 30s/40’s/50’s that was reasonably priced and of good quality for a Christmas gift. I was thrilled to find the vintage postcard cards of downtown Atlanta. Your online store offered a great selection of sizes and mounting options to fit any budget. I can’t wait until he opens the two I selected. I can see him naming all the stores and the busses and the types of cars. He will stare at them for hours remembering when he was there. Thank you for the happiness these two postcards will bring him! I’m sorry I can’t attach a picture because they are all wrapped up and under the tree!

Artist's Description

Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the main leaders of the American civil rights movement. A Baptist minister by training, King became a civil rights activist early in his career. His efforts led to the 1963 March on Washington, where King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, raising public consciousness of the civil rights movement and establishing King as one of the greatest orators in American history. In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end racial discrimination and desegregation through civil disobedience and other non-violent means. Dr. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 39. He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977. Martin Luther King Day was established as a national holiday in the United States in 1986. In 2004, King was posthumously awarded a Congressional Gold Medal.

About Kenneth Kelsoe

Kenneth Kelsoe

Kenneth Kelsoe was born in 1944, in Montebello, California, and was the third of four boys. His father, Boze, was a lumber grader. On another, the family lived in downtown East Los Angeles. While in high school, Ken played football, water polo, and wrestled. He was also the editor of the school newspaper. Ken graduated from Marysville High School in 1962. After graduation he worked in a lumber mill for a year before returned to school to study art at Santa Ana College and Yuba College. While at Yuba College, Ken met Patsy Lynn DeGarmo, the love of his life. In 1965...
