Great capture, Michael. It is a very unusual bridge. Thanks for sharing the background history. Do you know why the roof is so high? is there big truck traffic over the bridge?

Michael Porchik replied:

Hi Charles, it is a pretty unique looking bridge. The opening for traffic is only 10 feet, it does look much taller in the picture though. Here is an image I took in the summer at a different angle. http://fineartamerica.com/featured/knox-bridge-michael-porchik.html

Thanks Steve and Jeff.

that is a very cool and different covered bridge. Thanks for the background info on it. L#2

Great bridge, Michael! V

Very unique piece of art. Displayed in my living room and admired. Will highly recommend.

Daughter-in-law has the shower curtain, which she loves, and thought I'd get the hand towel to go with it. Didn't give it to her. The photo shows the entire towel, not what it looks like folded. When folded you only see some of the "splatters" on the bottom. If you turn it around the zebra's head is upside down. The way it's currently being produced, it isn't a suitable image for a hand towel.

I love the design but wanted to buy a towel that actually gets used - high polyester content makes that dubious. also: I was hoping to support American Artists as well as manufacturers - this sentiment got killed by giant "MADE IN CHINA" tag. Very sad.

The towel didn’t arrived. I tried to call customer service, nobody answered. Wrote message, also no answer. Never again. Also, this is my second purchase, the first one in November also never arrived. Never never again. Like I threw $100

Artist's Description

The white color of the Knox covered bridge over Valley Creek in Valley Forge National Park stands in a pleasing contrast to the autumn foliage in the background. This bridge is located on State Route 1016, Valley Spring Road in Valley Forge Park, Tredyffrin Township. The original bridge was built on this site in 1851 and destroyed by the flood of 1865 which resulted in the building of the second bridge. This structure was built by Robert Russell utilizing the Burr Arch, the length of the bridge is 65 feet and the width is 13 feet, it crosses Valley Creek and is in good condition opened to vehicle traffic. This bridge is named after Philander C. Knox (1855-1921) United States Senator from Pennsylvania and General Henry Knox (1750-1806) an officer quartered at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777-1778. This bridge is Federally owned. About Michael Porchik

I grew up in the country about 45 minutes northwest of Philadelphia. I tend to enjoy the simpler things in life, such as covered bridges, my fur pal Mundee, nature and photography. I am a mostly self taught photographer who isn't afraid to ask others about other techniques as I believe all artist can continue to learn and grow from the work of others. I am lucky enough to live in Chester County Pennsylvania which is home to quite a few covered bridges. I am hoping to one day finish photograhing all of the bridges in the county, after that I can move on to the surrounding counties. My wife and I adopted my Fur Pal Mundee 3 years ago, and I love being able to capture the intensity of the Border Collie species. I love dogs in...
