About John Loyd Rushing
I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to very creative parents, my father is a writer and designer and my mother is also a designer. I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I got my first camera at age 4; with my mom waiting on the curb I went door to door selling flower seeds, I wanted a camera so bad, even at age 4. I didn't get my first professional camera until around age 11. I really try to not go anywhere without my camera and a small sketch pad. Many people who see my photos think they are paintings, this is because I have been painting plein air and drawing right along with my photography. I had my first one man show or should I say one boy show at Laguna Village in Laguna Beach at age 12, I sold 3 paintings, all...
