Originally from Hamilton, Ohio, my family moved to Montreal, Quebec, in the early 1950’s. My penchant for art was expressed early but was not appreciated when, in second grade, I chose to draw, instead of spell, on a spelling test. In high school, I had a wonderful art teacher, from whom I took private lessons in drawing and painting, and who instilled a respect for good drawing skills. I majored fine arts in college, where I was introduced to the wonders of all of the available media. I dabbled in most of them, but didn’t settle on any one, in particular.
