The original of this image is very small, about the size of a postcard. I cut an interesting bit of magazine paper, colored it over with oil pastels, then created the design by scraping away layers of the pastel. This is a technique I am fond of using, but usually not on such a tiny scale. The scanned image was digitally enhanced and a texture added.
