This work started off as one of my simplistic sketches of a scene of nature with a butterfly and flowers. My husband asked me why red on top and yellow on bottom and so I showed him the photograph I was working from. He said "Oh, well I only asked, you didn't need to provide proof." Of course I did or I wouldn't be me. I used a pencil to sketch it and ink for color and then went more step and used digital to touch it up and frame it in a two tone frame. The flowers I used imagination to create because this butterfly was sitting on sand and I just thought it looked lonely. I hope the viewer enjoys my rendition of a butterfly on flowers.
Debra is a Tennessean who migrated to Maryland in the late 1970's. She studied art at FCC in Frederick, Maryland where she began her psychology and social science studies. She incorporated art into her curriculum. After graduating from FCC she studied for a Bachelor in Psychology with a Minor in Social Sciences. She then continued her studies and graduated from UMUC in Maryland with a Bachelor in Criminal Justice. She graduated with Cum Laude honors with both Bachelors and then began her Masters in Forensic Psychology. Do to health issues she had to leave her studies behind, which is when she returned to the art that she loves. Debra will be a good friend to those she knows due to the fact she never left her father's teachings behind...
