Description
LITTLE DAISY HOTEL by PRISCILLA BURGERS
A visit to Jerome, Arizona, is a delight for photographers, history buffs and shoppers. Historic buildings in this quirky town are in various states of repair and disrepair. The large building in the center is the historic Little Daisy Hotel. The hotel was built in 1919 by Jimmy Douglas for the miners who worked the nearby Little Daisy Mine. The miners had a room for an eight hour shift. Then they had to get out because the next shift was coming in. For the last few decades, the hotel had been an abandoned shell, but it was recently remodeled into a private residence. In the background can be seen the San Francisco Peaks with snow.
