It was a beautiful morning when I drove from my hotel to the ferry that would take me to the Isle of Iona, when I passed by Loch Na Keal. It was amazingly calm and still, and the reflections of the blue sky, white clouds, and nearby cliffs were amazing.

Loch na Keal means Loch of the Kyle, Narrows, or Loch of the Cliffs. It is the main sea loch on the western, or Atlantic, coastline of the Isle of Mull, one of the Inner Hebrides islands in Scotland.

I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
