Blue crabs are one of our favorite seafoods! We love boiled crabs, sauteed crabs, crab gratins, crab dips and soft shelled. Anyone who grows up here, or spends a lot of time here, learns to shell their crabs with great speed - or they go hungry!
Instead of painting ths crab in his locale, my goal was to make him a star - highlight the beauty of his creation. The varied colors of a blue crab from warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico are contrasted and highlighted on the strong red background.
