A young guitarist enjoying his gift of playing music with an acoustic guitar. One could almost listen to the musical tunes when viewing this image. Their is so much skill and hard work involved in becoming a good guitarist. It really entails study and practice, practice, and more practice. Also, most real guitarists and musicians develop a special and almost intimate relationship with their instrument. I believe this is actually key. Guitars are string instruments constructed from wood and strung with either nylon or steel strings. Shown is a modern six steel-string acoustic guitar, modern form of guitar that descends from the classical guitar. Its appeal over the classical guitar is that it is strung with steel, rather than nylon, strings for a brighter, louder sound. It is often referred to simply as an acoustic guitar.
The guitar in the image is also more specifically termed as a flap-top acoustic guitar, because of its flat top body. Another important feature of these guitars relates to their construction with a combination of various types of wood that have pleasing resonant qualities (tonewoods) when used in instrument-making. The back and sides of a particular guitar are typically made of the same wood, wither Brazilian, East Indian rosewood, or Honduras mahogany, among others.

I love this image, Sandra. I agree with Barbara that the colors are wonderful ... and to me feel as if they give birth themselves to a "feeling" of sound. I also love playing guitar and singing, though it's been long since I've had the luxury of time to indulge in this intimate form of meditation. Thank you for appreciating my photo "A welcomed Visit," I would like to reciprocate by selecting this piece to feature in the appreciation thread. Blessings to you Sandra. V/F
