Description
Lutefisk is a disgusting traditional Norwegian dish. It's actually made from Cod fish...and cod cooked regularly is delicious....but Lutefisk is old, dried, salted and eventually soaked in lye...Before the lye dunk...the dried up cod fish looks like a petrified leather sack encasing putrid dense fish meat. The smell far exceeds any, "oceanic" stench that may linger at low tides. After a nice little soak in a vat of poisonous lye however, the rank meat has been broken down and the end result an off-white, semi iridescent and very gelatinous, wobbly pile of old fish jello on your plate. YUM!
Although Lutefisk is actually a cod fish. I drew what I imagine a "Lutefisk" would look like in nature if one existed...It's sinister looking, unrefined, messy, with big bright Troll eyes, gnarled teeth and a serpent's body.
Lutefisk literally translates to "LyeFish"..... Lute=Lye / Fisk=Fish
