Description
This is the waterside entrance to the home of Marco Polo. How amazing is it that it is still standing? We are talking about an explorer who traveled to Asia and the Orient in the late 1200's over land and sea on a trek that lasted almost 25 years! How did he go through all those countries, deal with all those various cultures including barbarians, survive who knows what kinds of challenges, and manage to make it home alive and well. Amazing. I painted the irregularities, oddities and elegant decay that makes this city so interesting.
