Item was lost in transit. Tough figuring out how to contact Fine Art. Finally received 6 weeks after placing order. Then received the original shipment.

I bought this tapestry for my mother who is in the final stages of lung caner. I wanted to brighten her room and bring her some cheer. I paid extra to have it shipped Next Day Air. We received the package 5 days after ordering. However, I was very diappointed at the taperstry when I opened it. It is very blurry and distorted. The fabric is OKAY somewhat thin, but not terrible. I have ordered many tapestries from another company recently as Christmas gifts for 1/2 the price that are way better quality and very clear and vibrant. I will not order again from Fine Art America....

Artist's Description

Cirrus in the form of mare's tails can actually be pretty revealing. The stretched out bands of cirrus are parallel to the wind through the rather shallow depth of the ice crystals. As these elongated bands approach the deformation zone east of the upper ridge, the ice crystals fan out and form the tail of the horse. The tail near the rump of the horse is stretched along a typically northwest to southeast orientation as winds are typically northwesterly ahead of a typical upper ridge. The fanning out of the ice crystals is at an angle to the upper winds. The upstream end of the deformation zone wraps around the anticyclonic circulation within the upper ridge. The downstream end of the deformation zone wraps cyclonically around the retreating low. The deformation zone is not really obvious as there is just not enough moisture to make it stand out. It is there never the less and I almost painted in a double headed green arrow which is the symbol for the deformation zone but it would have...

About Phil Chadwick

Trained at Queens University as a nuclear physicist, Phil the Forecaster has been a professional meteorologist since 1976. Painting has however been his passion forever. For ten years, he studied under the late Mario Airomi, a famous Italian artist. Phil paints what he knows best: weather, nature, canoes and his family. There are not enough hours in the day to record the inspiration that abounds. Phil paints mainly en plein air striving for impressionistic realism. Something intangible and sometimes magical enters the art when one is actually out in the elements surrounded by inspiration. Bold colours and shapes can be found in the natural world if you only look. Phils art hangs in many private and corporate collections around the...
