Wonderfully Framed. Really Like the stark surroundings that accentuate the small, color saturated, chapel. Well Done.

Thank you for visiting Nova Scotia Maria!

Just wanted to say Thank you Karen .Following your advice , we visited Grand Pre today (Victoria Day) and had a great time in it's magic atmosphere, even though the day was a bit gray and foggy . As we are relatively new to Nova Scotia it was very interesting and fascinating for us to learn this dramatic page in the local history . Thanks again and have a great week :)

Item was lost in transit. Tough figuring out how to contact Fine Art. Finally received 6 weeks after placing order. Then received the original shipment.

I bought this tapestry for my mother who is in the final stages of lung caner. I wanted to brighten her room and bring her some cheer. I paid extra to have it shipped Next Day Air. We received the package 5 days after ordering. However, I was very diappointed at the taperstry when I opened it. It is very blurry and distorted. The fabric is OKAY somewhat thin, but not terrible. I have ordered many tapestries from another company recently as Christmas gifts for 1/2 the price that are way better quality and very clear and vibrant. I will not order again from Fine Art America....

Artist's Description

Meadow of tears by Karen Cook - Grand Pre (French for large meadow) is a National Historic Site of Canada located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. It is a site dedicated to the memory of one history's most tragic events and one that was largely unknown to most of the world until a poem was written a century later. The event is referred to the Expulsion of the Acadians, the Great Expulsion or the Great Deportment. The Annapolis Valley was settled mostly by French in the 1600s. The area was known as Acadia and the people were peaceful farmers, building farms on land they reclaimed from the sea with dykes. Over the years the territory changed hands between the French and the English until in the mid 1700s the territory was firmly in control of the English. The Acadians were ordered to swear an oath of allegiance to England, even though they were known for their neutrality in conflict. They refused. One Sunday morning in September 1755 all the men and boys over the age...
