I replaced the darker fur by visual textures, used normally by me.
Mecheruca came into my life, when a student, found her abandoned in the yard of the faculty of art. She was very, very small and I immediately adopted her. I called her Mecheruca, a Portuguese word that means little, insignificant, and we two face life together. She accompanied me in the hardest years of my life. Mecheruca was the company that helped me to live that time, day by day.
Mecheruca became a very beautiful cat, with long and beautiful hair.
I miss her so much!!
I am a Portuguese visual artist, painter and ceramist, living in Chile. I have 3 children. I have had several individual and group exhibitions throughout my life. I participated in the 1st Andiamerican Art Triennial representing Portugal (1993) and I have exhibited twice at the Ralli Museum. I am a painting teacher at the Talagante Cultural Corporation and at the Penaflor Space. I work in a wide range of media, including oil, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, pencil, photography, and mixed media. Madalena, This is a unique and lovely picture. I read the story about this lovely cat and how she helped you through difficult times. I love cats (and dogs too)/ I wish I could have about ten cats! Ha ha. Would like to get at least another one, though. Our cat "Bob" who was grey and handsome and smart and a lovable, yet strong cat, passed away unexpectedly 3 years ago and I miss him so much.
