Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

James Baldwin is an English artist currently living and working in New Zealand. He studied fine art at Cumbria College of Art in the mid 1990s. Since then he specialised in high quality pencil drawings, choosing to leave behind his paintbrushes (although he does still dabble on occasion). Initially, he produced high quality drawings of sporting activities, working with Superbike teams and exhibited his work in London and Edinburgh. Soon, he was approached to draw a Spitfire and this rekindled a long standing passion for aircraft. A passion, he says, that started as a child being dragged each year to the RAF Finningley air show. Mr Baldwin, When I first stumbled upon this particular piece of your work while doing a google search, I could hardly believe my eyes. The work itself is exceptional, but what really caught my eye was the aircraft number. I just happen to be a medevac pilot for the Oregon Army National Guard where we fly HH-60M Blackhawks. The aircraft you have depicted in your artwork, aircraft number 10-20304, is one that I have personally flown many times! Unfortunately, we had to transfer them to another state when we deployed overseas, so I will never see that particular aircraft again. I will, however, have your print to hang on my wall for years to come. Thank you!
