Description
The broken and abandoned hulk or shipwreck of the Merganser lies on the shore of the River Tamar at Hole's Hole near Weir Quay on the Bere Peninsula in West Devon, SW England, UK. The tidal river is the border that separates the counties of Devon and Cornwall. The Tamar Valley was once a heavily mined area and the Bere Peninsula, in particular, was famous for its royal silver and lead mines dating back several hundred years. There is still evidence of such operations.
