Description
Pulmonary metastases from primary liver carcinoma. Light micrograph from an affected lung. Carcinoma of the liver is the main primary hepatic tumor and one of the most common cancers worldwide. Intra-hepatic (within the liver) recurrence is more frequent but pulmonary metastasis is the chief site of extrahepatic (outside the liver) spread. Several methods of treatment for carcinoma are often used in combination for either palliation or cure. Magnification: x150 when printed at 10 centimetres across. Human tissue.
