At the top of McClellan Butte is a final scramble...this is it. Well the South flank anyway...this pitch drops straight down the whole mile. This final pitch is death defying and includes a severe drop on both sides of a shark fin edge up 150 feet. This is not for the faint of heart and it sits at the apex of a mile high tough climb. In the winter it is a frozen rock with smooth ice all the way up. If the climber is fortunate enough to get to the top, they get a chance for unobstructed 360 degree views. Oh, and an even harder climb down this shark fin test of nerves and skill.
