I like your Havana Cuba Girl art which reminds me of pinup girl artwork from the 1940's-1950's. That's great artwork for the IdaHome magazine cover. I would think that would be a good addition to your print for sale collection. Paul Bennett

The Mimosa
is a genus of about 400 species of herbs and shrubs, in the subfamily Mimosoideae of the legume family Fabaceae. The generic name is derived from the Greek word (mimos), meaning "mimic."
There are two species in the genus that are notable.[citation needed] One is Mimosa pudica, because of the way it folds its leaves when touched or exposed to heat. It is native to southern Central and South America but is widely cultivated elsewhere for its curiosity value, both as a houseplant in temperate areas, and outdoors in the tropics. Outdoor cultivation has led to weedy invasion in some areas, notably Hawaii. The other is Mimosa tenuiflora, which is best known for its use in shamanic ayahuasca brews due to the psychedelic drug dimethyltryptamine found in its root bark.
Taxonomy
The taxonomy of the genus Mimosa has had a tortuous history, having gone through periods of splitting and lumping, ultimately accumulating over 3,000 names, many of which have either been syno...

I grew up in a very small unincorporated community, or town, if you can call it that, Putney GA. > Almost everyone knew each other in this place, and that's the way I liked it, well sort-of anyway. The people I've been closest to over the years and throughout my life, did very little to influence me in my art work, and are not responsible for my interest in art or photography, however, I will admit that there was two exceptional moments in my life; One was, in which my sister, and myself, both received a joint gift on Christmas day. I was about the age of 7 or 8 years old when this explosion of inspiration came from a candle making kit,...

When I was 10 a man gave me a potted mimosa pudica, the Sensitive plant. If you touch the leaves they close up. I have seen them growing wild in Puerto Rico. It is everywhere there.
Kim Pate replied:
They are a absolutely beautiful flowering tree > but can take over a yard in no time, if not managed properly, > Gate story Bill, Puerto Rico is.. a pretty place to live, or grow-up at.. :)
Kim Pate replied:
That would be Grate story I mean... lol
