The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

FIRST PLACE: Nature Abstracts Contest at Midwest American Photography
"A Birth Certificate shows that you were born, a Death Certificate shows that you died, AND photos show that you lived." I have recently returned to the north country and I'm now excited to call the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts home. After visiting this area several times in the past we knew this is where we had to be. Now the fall colors, Berkshires, White Mountains, Green Mountains, waterfalls and quaint New England towns and tree tunnel back roads are easily within a few minutes or several hours drive with subjects galore waiting to be photographed. Previously I lived in and photographed across Northwestern Ontario and northern Minnesota for over 30 years. After retiring from a career in education, I pursued interests as a nature...

You had one of my votes too, Bill . . . from the git-go. I simply love this. Matter of fact, it inspired me to go back nearly two years in my own archives for a cracked mud photo I took but never processed and work it up. It didn't turn out nearly as interesting as this . . . the way your main lines kind of circle and almost spiral around to lead us to that more open spot just above and left of center is terrific. And I really like the way the "pieces" of mud are so curled up - makes you want to reach out and peel them off the spot on the ground. Tones are great, too. I could look at this a long time. Congratulations on the well-deserved win.
Bill Morgenstern replied:
Thank you very much Nikolyn. I really appreciate your support and and am pleased you were inspired to dig out your own dried mud shot and give it new life. I hope to see yours posted also.
