Panorama of Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park situated in Utah/Arizona. The buttes or Mittens in the park have served as a backdrop for many westerns over the decades. The phenomena of the shadow of the eastern mitten draping the western mitten is said to occur only twice a year - once in March and once in September.

I imagine the timing of your visit to this icon was intentional, seeing that shadow on the middle mitten (been trying unsuccessfully for years to do that). What a wonderful display of photographic ability! Marvelous shot! Obviously featured in Utah Landscapes!

Thanks Chad. It actually wasn't intentional. I was there only one night and the timing was chosen because that is what worked. Only after getting there did I find out about this phenomena.
