Description
Moon's 240-degree hemisphere. Topographic model of the lunar hemisphere centred on 240 degrees longitude, based on data from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). This robotic space probe from NASA has been orbiting the Moon since 2009. This image is from the Global Lunar DTM 100 topographic model (GLD100), based on data from the LRO's Wide Angle Camera (WAC) and Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA). Increasing elevation above the mean is marked by green, yellow, orange, red, and white. Decreasing elevation below the mean is marked by cyan, blue, purple, and violet. The GLD100 model was published in 2011.
