Idaho, central, Wildflowers in a mountain meadow at sunrise in the Sawtooth Recreation area. Created using 4x5 film.
I like storms, they add interest and drama to a landscape. Blue sunny skies are nice for postcards and that perfect day feeling but there is nothing like a sunset after a storm. Here the last rays of light glow on the clouds over a field of wildflowers in the Stanley Basin of central Idaho. I remember the fragrance from the flowers coupled with the dampness of the air. Reflected light and moisture created saturated colors, just in time to make a couple exposures and then the light was gone. Time to retire for the night feeling once again so fortunate to have witnessed an exceptional moment in nature.
