Wow, this guy looks pensive like the cheetah in my photo. You capture these animals very well.

Barbara, you have such an amazing portfolio, keep up the great talent, it is so beautiful to watch each created piece.

Barbara ALL your work is majestic. From you native Americans to your cats and even to your flowers. And your self-taught which means you truly have a God-given gift! When I first built the studio I was so overwhelmed with the space that I didn't touch a pencil or brush for almost two years. I suppose I thought I couldn't measure up to the space. Lately I am starting to feel at one with it, not in competition with it! PS...What do you charge for your works?

This one is my favorite! Beautiful!

Barbara, love your new work, but this one is one of my favorites for Colored pencil. Wish you would make a video so I could see how the heck you do it! Amazing!

This is beautiful...it looks like this cat could jump off the page! Thanks for your comments on my boot painting. Yes, I am a bonafide, certified horseaholic! Glenda Smith

I am amazed by your colored pencil work. I am in awe of anyone who can make that medium work for them. I sure can't.

ops! Sorry! This is a drawing!!!! more impressive!!!!!!

Amazing details, love the expression, love the way you use your brushes....very softly.

This is obsolutely beautiful Barbara....but then again...I love all your work...just haven't been to active here...but trust that I am a Big Fan of your work:-)

Sherri.. you'll mostly have to find your own way.. but.. I just follow the growth pattern of the fur. That's the best I can tell you.

I do colored pencil portraits and was told that people would like animal portraits. Do you any advice on techniques for fur? I want to try a dog or cat for commissions as well as my portrait commissions. Thanks. Your work is beautiful so I thought I would ask someone who knows what they're doing!

An excellent purchase for one who is home sick; do more scene of the Queen City!!!

Many years ago, my uncle Thomas (Tom) Phillip Hufford asked me to come up with a word the opposite of predator. Amitor is that word. Ami: Fr. friend, Amigo: Sp. friend, Amity: Eng. harmony, Ami: Formosa, Taiwan. Giraffe: non predatory animal unless young attacked. Butterflies: live, love, laugh, hope. Survive, thrive and inspire others. Pen Sherwood offered to do this Amtor artwork for free sharing the copyright with me for my Amitor concept. Amitor Tom would be so proud. Diana Hays Kisselburg

Artist's Description

Once again there are parts taken from more than one cat. It does seem though that the cheetah has a tendency of sitting and looking directly at you, so it's not hard to match parts up. Also.. some "parts" are from the cheetahs that reside at the Cleveland Zoo. I welcome all critiques and comments on my work.

About Barbara Keith

05-19-17: Due to the injury of my index finger I can no longer work the hours I used to so I'm working on very short timelines. What that means is that it's going to take me a lot longer to get anything done. You never realize how important a thing like a finger is until you damage it!!! Bear with me, I will post anything new as I finish them. Also, I would like to let all the groups that I belong to know that I'm trying to catch up on everything - considering I lost about a year in total where I really couldn't do much. Sorry for the influx. 07-07-16: Will be absent again due to a torn tendon in my right hand (index finger). Will be gone for at least 8 weeks 04-09-16: I just want to let every one know that I will probably be absent...
