Description
Situated on a narrow finger of land that the Natives once called a good place for camping, and where the word Mukilteo comes from, this little Victorian-style lighthouse stands guard over Possession Sound and the entrance to Everett Harbor, as it has since 1906. The magnificent fourth order Fresnel lens together with the Daboll Trumpet Fog Horn, made marine traffic in the area safer. Today, a modern fog alarm is in place, but the faithful, fourth order Fresnel lens is still serving proudly, as it has all these years. Located adjacent to the Whidbey Island Ferry terminal at Mukilteo, the lighthouse is open for visitors on weekends. Call (206)355-2611 for details you'll love the visit.

Thank you Johanna. Are you possibly German? I haven't seen that spelling since I was in Heidelberg and Mannheim, stationed there. Boy, do I miss that beautiful, wonderful Country...and the people. Anyway, thank you so much. Jim

Thank you so much, you guys! Coming from Class A artists like you, it means a lot. My new one I'm working on now, will have lavender in the foreground, and reflections of the lighthouse in a back eddy...New Dungeoness Lighthouse, in Sequim, WA., home of the Lavender Faire. I hope it turns out. You'll all find out. See Ya. Jim
