This portrait was my failure. The painting was a gift. When it was finished, after 2 months of work, my wife and I drove to West Virginia to deliver it. MaryAnn didn't like it and wanted me to make many changes on it. Because of the reception I received after unveiling the portrait and the fact that my family had warned me that she wouldn't like it no matter how many changes I made. I decided to keep the portrait myself. To this day it hangs in my studio where it will hang until I die. My kids can do what they want with it after I am gone. I have never made any changes on it.
