I was disappointed that the image on this pouch was not very clear. The zipper doesn't work real well, either.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse is one of the more iconic lighthouses on the Oregon coast. There are so many different viewpoints of it along the coast. This image was taken from Cobble Beach in the Yaquina Head Natural area. Yaquina Head Lighthouse construction was completed and then first lit in 1873. Then in 1966 it was automated and still using its Fresnel Lense that is visable up to 19 miles out to sea. Yaquina Head is the tallest and second oldest lighthouse on the Oregon coast. The area has also been used in the 2002 movie The Ring and in an episode of the TV series, The Nacy Drew Mysteries.
This was one of my favorite images that I took from this area. I really liked the birds flying out of the composition. The birds are brown pelicans that were all over the seastack next to the lighthouse. I think the birds and fog added a bit of mystery to the image so I thought that Black and White would be best to enhance the mood of the overall image.
My photography focus is primarily nature and wildlife. I have a strong passion for the outdoors, capturing images that help preserve the numerous public lands and all that they offer. My travels take me all over the western united states to the common and not so common places. Many of my photos concentrate on the National Parks of Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Arches National Parks. Other areas of my travels include Moab Utah, Central Oregon, the Oregon coast and many areas around my home State of Washington. Take your time and enjoy my images.
