With a great deal of help from Gary F Richards, this has been identified as a beautiful Canna Lily, of course! He has suggested that this is a Toucan Yellow Canna Lily and I think he certainly is probably right! I also am leaning a bit towards the Yellow King Humbert Canna Lily from my memory of the flower. I sure appreciate Gary taking time to help me with this and I hope you take a moment to visit his wonderful gallery here on FAA as well!
Original description: This is another shot of one of the lovely yellow flowers that caught my eye along the busy highway in Destin, Florida. I am hoping this view that shows more detail of the leaves and stem that maybe we can come up with the exact name of this beauty! I think it is an orchid, (wrong! it is definitely a Canna Lily!) but I am having trouble identifying the exact type . . . . even without a name it is beautiful! A rose by any other name would smell as sweet!

Gary, Bless you! I could not get the word "orchid" out of my head, but I kind of knew it wasn't right! This is definitely a Canna Lily!!! but now I am not sure if it is a Toucan or a Yellow King Humbert Canna Lily ??? Anyway, so glad to be in the right ballpark!!!
