I love all your work, Tim. you have such great ideas and really get them across well. They are very appealing, Do you have any tips for a blocked and unbelieving artist(unbelieving in myself..)?
Tim Allen replied:
First, thank you very much for your comment. I very much appreciate it. As for tips, I guess it depends on what medium you are using but, working with digital art and The GIMP in particular, I follow the 5 Ps. Those are Patience, Persistence and Practice, Practice, Practice. I am wholly self taught. No formal schooling whatsoever. If I get frustrated with a piece, I get up and walk away from the computer for a while and come back with a fresh outlook minutes, hours or even, sometimes, days later. I never shy away from trying some tool I had never used before just to see what happens. I surprise myself sometimes that way. Oftentimes pleasantly so. Basically, I just try to keep a positive and open outlook and I go by the words on a refrigerator magnet I own. It states "Never Apologize For Your Art". What may seem like a bad piece of art to you may be considered by another as the next Mona Lisa. And visa versa. Everyone has their own style and tastes. If you keep an open mind, even that piece of shit art you saw the other day might grow on you and you, too, might then see the beauty behind it. But staying positive and believing in your own artwork, whatever medium you choose, is key. Like my magnet states, "Never Apologize For Your Art." Hope this helps. Thank you again for the wonderful praise, Kaz. Have a great day.

Image would look great on a postcard too! Luv the abstract, and colors against the black background.
Tim Allen replied:
Thank you very much for your input, Teresa. I'm actually exploring different possibilities for this image. It's been very popular and have sold quite a few notecards at art walks.
