Description
Every neighborhood has a mystery. In my corner of Kerrville Texas, the homes mostly date back to the early part of the 20th century, with the last being built in the 1930s. Most are lovingly kept by retired couples and young families who work downtown. Except one. Two houses down from me, the house on the corner sits abandoned, and has been so for many years. The owner never visits it, and does not wish to sell it, so it slowly melts away in the Texas sun. From my back yard, I can see across the neighbor's yard to the ancient, dilapidated fence, and a shed that lies beyond. Red paint still clings to the ancient boards, and inside, decaying boxes of cardboard mysteries can be viewed through a window. This being a small town, no one bothers the old house, or the items left in the garage and shed. The old shed and its house just sit there, full of unanswered questions.

That is indeed a mysterious and strange story Marsha!! I wonder what the reasons are, most thought provoking. Such excellent art as always, you have captured the house as if it were alive. It must have stories to tell, and now I wonder what spirits inhabit it. I would get the chills walking it by it for sure.
Marsha Reeves replied:
Thanks Sharon--the view of the front with the old porch is even spookier (future painting).

Your reverent nod to antiquity...to history...to folklore...to MYSTERY...you paint LIFE! Marsha, Perhaps some of my FAVORITES of your work involve your LOVE of your home state, Texas and the WONDERFUL historical-personal accounts you offer. I, too, love painting my life vignettes; that, along with our mutual love of THE Flow of Light and pigment has fueled our aesthetic FAA friendship. I am so grateful for the glimpses of ...S..h..e..e..r...Beauty that scintillates within your portfolio, Marsha!! Thank you for the many GLIMPSES ...LF
