Thanks for sharing this with us--and printing this out for us to read. fave and voted

Lingfai Leung replied:

Thanks Nava Jo for your comment. It took me a while to rewrite them from the photo. I went online to find out the information but the site did not provide the engraving information, just said it was 74 foot high marble. Appreciated for your support.

Love the name Newseum, as I actually have not heard this one before, and this is an awesome building, and thanks much for rewriting for us with failing eyesight, Lingfai, as it was meaningful, but not easy to ready from the building unless directly in front of it. Love the capture. fave and vote

Lingfai Leung replied:

Thanks Randy for your lovely comment. I think not many people know this building - it is a museum of news and article. I did not go inside but love the architecture. I have to rewrite the First Amendment as it was historical and yes, it can be great idea for people who can't read well from the photo.

I was just rewriting the message on the 74 foot high marble engraving at the entrance: CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH OR OF THE PRESS, OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO ASSEMBLE, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES

Artist's Description

The Newseum - a 250,000-square-foot museum of news - offers visitors an experience that blends five centuries of news history with up-to-the-second technology and hands-on exhibits. The Newseum is located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Sixth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., on America's Main Street between the White House and the U.S. Capitol and adjacent to the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall. The exterior's unique architectural features include a 74-foot-high marble engraving of the First Amendment and an immense front wall of glass through which passers-by can watch the museum fulfill its mission of educating the public about the value of a free press in a free society and telling the stories of the world's important events in unique and engaging ways. The Newseum features seven levels of galleries, theaters, retail spaces and visitor services. It offers a unique environment that takes museumgoers behind the scenes to experience how and why news is made. ***...
