This is the second piece of work by the same artist, Jennifer Baird, that we've purchased. We live in Hastings UK, the same town as the artwork shows. I believe that Jennifer Baird also lives in the town. We love the artwork and are very happy with the quality of the print and the frame, as we were with the first order we placed a year or so ago. Both items arrived in perfect condition.
Artist's Description
My friend and student, Meredith Sears and her husband took some wonderful photos of the owls that reside at Twin Lakes, a park near Boulder, Clorado. I found their photos to be great inspiration for two paintings....this is the first of them. I used masking fluid to preserve the white highlights and when I rubbed it off, there was the owl!!
About Anne Gifford
Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist. After 25 years of printmaking, Anne now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. Anne, your style lends itself particularly well to nocturnes. I'm thinking about starting a nocturne series soon but it will probably be in oils. It's very difficult to get a deep, dark black with watercolor.
