Just visited the Wright Brother s Museum in Kitty Hawk. A quality portrait of Orville and Wilbur-just like the one in the museum. Quality product!
My friend and student, Meredith Sears and her husband took some wonderful photos of the owls that reside at Twin Lakes, a park near Boulder, Clorado. I found their photos to be great inspiration for two paintings....this is the first of them. I used masking fluid to preserve the white highlights and when I rubbed it off, there was the owl!!

Anne, your style lends itself particularly well to nocturnes. I'm thinking about starting a nocturne series soon but it will probably be in oils. It's very difficult to get a deep, dark black with watercolor.
