My husband Michael Walsh took this photo of the Nokomos Sunset Hut in Nokomis, Florida and I edited it. I also have a painterly version of this photo with brush strokes.

When my husband and I take photos together we each have our own camera, and sometimes we have fun seeing who can come up with the best composition for a location. When we get home we put all the photos on the computer and see who "wins". It's quite fun! We usually both end up getting winning photos, but sometimes Mike comes up with a real winner that takes the cake!

Sometimes a building can be challenging to photograph because of distracting things in the way, like cars, electric lines and poles, street signs, crowds, etc. If we photograph early in the morning we have less cars and people in the way, but street signs and other objects are always there. That's where it's important to stand in just the right spot that shows the best angle of the building with as few distractions as possible, and to create an image that artistically has a strong composition.

When we photographed the Nokomos Sunset Hut Mike found a spot that I missed, and I have to say he had the best angle. Mike for the win!

I got some nice photos, too, but this angle is just awesome.

This image is just so fun with the bright colors and mood. I can hear Jimmy Buffet music playing.

Nokomos Sunset Hut is a waterfront tiki bar in Nokomis, Florida. It sits on Dona Bay with spectacular sunset views. If you want a fun tropical vibe with live music, Caribbean food, and outdoor seating this is the place to go! Bright colors, palm trees, and the breeze from the Gulf of Mexico make you feel like you are right in the tropics. It's a fun place to relax and feel like you are on vacation.

Boaters from the Gulf of Mexico can enter Dona Bay from the South Jetty in Venice, go past Snake Island and dock at Nokomos to get something to eat.

Nokomis is a small town on the Gulf Coast of Florida in-between Venice to the south and Sarasota to the north. About 2.5 miles of the Legacy Trail is in Nokomis. Nearby is the barrier island of Casey Key full of luxury beachfront homes.
