Gorgeous drawing, Bruce! Fav.

Bruce Morrison replied:

Thank you Scott!

Thank you Liz. I really liked your Harris Sparrow as well, they are just returning now from the north country (your neck of the woods) and are enjoying the raspberry patches here at the farmstead (maybe eating bugs and berries).

Hello Bruce,...Like they all said..and more, wonderful work! Looking forward to seeing more and chatting. Take care, Liz

Thank you for the comments, sorry to take so long getting back to you. This piece (the original) is in the permanent collection of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, and was a favorite of mine. I do color pencil fairly often in the winter but am usually too busy during spring, summer and fall months to stay in the studio enough. I do have some more color pencils on my blog...you may have to page back a little. It's at http://prairiepainter.blogspot.com

I absolutely love this. This is the level of color pencil I can dream of and aspire to. Can we see more?

A masterpiece!! Your ability with your chosen media is flawless!!

Breathtaking in every way.

Great service and product!

Item arrived exactly as expected and well packaged. I absolutely adore it.

Lovely photo, excellent quality print. The greeting card packs of 25 came shipped in a ridiculously overprotective amount of packaging. Each set already included a cardboard case, but then all sets were mounted in the center of a shallow supply box about 2.5' square, sealed with metal staples (!), which were not easily removed.

Love it.

I LOVE the picture. The problem is that it was TAPED on the picture, and it wasn't obvious, so when I opened the roll, it tore. Have to say, that really bothered me. I can't really use it, now, and I don't want to buy another one. Had I know it would be presented that way, I certainly would have looked for it, although it was pretty stuck to that tape.

Overall was good, though definitely did not like my paper selection (Somerset Velvet), description makes it sound like it will look way better and higher quality, and it does the opposite, makes it look more vintage looking.

Artist's Description

This piece is of a wetland area north of us; the Great Egret is the catalyst that made the drawing come together. The original color pencil is now part of the permanent collection at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin.

About Bruce Morrison

I studied at the University of Iowa's School of Art, where I majored in Photography and minored in two other mediums: Painting and Serigraphy. The landscape is a favored subject in my photography, paintings and drawings; while birds are a favorite subject in my serigraphy and drawings. The photographic landscape is treated in large and medium formats. In painting I prefer a plein air approach and these works are smaller in scale. My work in serigraphy plays upon a more graphic approach of shape, color and line. My interests have always been torn between the camera and the canvas, between birds and the landscape; now particularly the "Prairie". I grew up in the timber of the Des Moines River valley in NW Iowa and later in my life became...
