Description
Delighted to offer 'Noteworthy' as a fine art print & more! Truly a 'labor of love' ~ this soft pastel creation includes several greats of Jazz & Blues, including a young Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Duke Ellington & Nina Simone [top left]. Coming from a musical family & playing piano by ear as a tiny tot, creating this piece was especially near & dear to my heart! Makes a wonderful addition to any office or home decor. Enjoy!
*See 'Noteworthy' w-black border & title by clicking 'Previous' above. Honored by members' kind & generous support...for both pieces!
NOTE: Always look for print options best-suited to show the finer details of an image, like premium quality photo paper [for framed or unframed pieces].

Original poetry by Brooks Garten Hauschild ~
T a n g o
[Poetry in Motion]
'Like a lover,
he held the sax,
moving hypnotically.
The yellow-gold of his instrument
set-off his dark hair and eyes,
while his fingertips savored
the last drops of each note.
Through the smoke and heat,
his eyes caught mine,
black i n t o blue.
Half a smile lit his clean-shaven face. I swear
he winked, but I could’ve been mistaken.
He wore a tiny gold cross in one ear
and his hair combed back
from a face I’ve dreamed.
His lips were full, almost feminine.
He made me want to Tango.
I’ve never danced the Tango.
Taking a break from the music,
he turned and headed straight toward me.
Silver taps c l i c k e d under worn black boots.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
His hand met mine
and didn’t let go.
He smelled of peppermint and chocolate.
He taught me to Tango."

This is fabulous, Brooke. I keep seeing more and more in it. I really love how the treble clef twists around and morphs into a horn. And the ear! Wildly imaginative, all!

Brooks, this is incredible! Love the portraits, the lighting, the composition, the wonderful feel . . . captures the rhythm of the music, but I also feel the darkness from which Jazz is rooted . . . . really really like this one! . . . .f/ltw

Beautiful tribute to the musical greats; and an amazing composition that you created using pastel!

Thank you so much, Celeste! A 'labor of love'. The original is matter & framed in our living room so I see it everyday and am reminded of who much work went into its creation!
