This is a print from a photograph of an old wild eastern turkey who with his brother and their flock of about 30 hens would frequent the wildlife artist Susan A Walton's studio, displaying and strutting and generally making it very easy to study their plumage and mannerisms and yes, even their individual personalities. This old fellow has been in many a scrape to earn the right to co-rule their large family and his scarred bill bears witness to his courage.
